Groovemaster Recording was founded in Evergreen Park, IL in 1991, by Grammy nominated producer Johnny K. Groovemaster has grown into a 40,000 sq ft multi-room complex in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood and has become a midwest mecca for diverse clientele including Niki Minaj, Cindi Lauper, Anthrax, and Fall Out Boy. Groovemaster offers world class recording studios featuring SSL and Vintage Neve consoles. In addition they house an extensive microphone collection, hundreds of guitars, amps and cabs, a nine foot Knabe grand piano and a B3 Hammond Organ with Leslie amplifiers. They are known for their large, intricately designed recording spaces, rehearsal & pre-production rooms as well as dramatic views of the Chicago skyline.
Groovemaster has worked with numerous local, national, and major label bands. Some well known include, Disturbed, Megadeth, Three Doors Down, Staind, Shinedown, Finger Eleven, Seether, Sevendust, Plain White T's, Alien Ant Farm, Kill Hannah, Simple Plan, Avenged Sevenfold, The Academy Is and Drowning Pool.
